what is a digital c-print?

digital c-prints are chromogenic prints created by exposing light sensitive paper with LEDs or lasers

WHAT IS THE TURNAROUND TIME FOR A DIGITAL C-PRINT?

normal turnaround time is 24hrs. time is subject to change due to high volume of orders. customer will be notified immediately if such is the case.

What is the difference between a digital c-print and ready print digital c-print?

print ready digital c-prints are for customers who are photoshop savvy and can edit their file to our file requirements so that the file is sent directly to print without any alterations or corrects. please note that only options print ready digital c-prints are glossy and matte paper.

a regular digital c-print is modified by one of our producers from cropping to resizing to assigning a color profile to match the desired paper choice.

WHAT IS A GICLÉE PRINT?

giclée prints are also known as fine art digital prints or inkjet prints.

WHAT KIND OF PAPER IS AVAILABLE FOR GICLÉE PRINTS?

we offer a range of epson and hahnemühle paper. special paper is available upon request.

WHAT DOES GSM MEAN?

gsm stands for grams per square meter. the higher the gsm, the heavier the paper.

THERE IS A SPELLING/GRAMMAR ERROR ON MY PRINT

Vista Imaging Group does not proofread nor correct any spelling or grammar mistakes. All artwork is sent to customer for final confirmation prior to printing except for print ready digital c-prints.

WHAT KIND OF PRINTS ARE ARCHIVAL?

digital c-prints and giclée prints are both archival.

keep in mind that the storage and handling of prints affect the longevity of the print.

I'm having trouble deciding between a digital c-print or giclée print

making a decision on what kind of print will best display your artwork is a difficult one. we suggest to decide what kind of surface (finish) will best enhance the detail, contrast and/or colors of your artwork. think about where the image will be displayed whether it will be hung in a frame, placed in a portfolio or used as a work print.

what type of film does vig scan?

we scan 35mm, 120, 220, 4x5 and 8x10 negatives and slides

what is the standard turnaround for scans?

standard turnaround time is 48hrs (monday-friday). time subject to change depending on quantity of scans

what kind of file do I receive for my scans?

you have the option of receiving a rgb or cmyk tiff file.
